Artwork note:
The viewer is immediately drawn to the
rich colors Aractingi used and the
complexity of that color.
The works of Willy Aractingi are not
that innocent as they portray naive and
vulnerable looking cartoon figures, upon
further investigation one find a
clandestine layer of evil and rebellion
underneath the innocent first
impressions. Aractingi’s art carries
strong references to morality taking for
reference mostly the "Fables De La
Fontaine" that he illustrated in 246 oil
on canvas paintings in term of 6 years.
Aractingi pictures are widely admired
for their subtle texture light and
color, but the confident draftsmanship
and the rich, velvety shadows of his
drawing show that the artist had an
equally compelling mastery of form, line
and tone. |
